Contributions & Outcomes
I contributed to early market research at HairDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization providing patients with control over how research for novel hair loss related therapies are funded. I investigated topical biochemical therapies. Notably, I identified and supported preliminary contact with Amplifica, a vendor of biologically-based topical drugs for hair loss treatment. The drug contains senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) factors that hyperactivate hair follicle stem cells, bypassing the androgen-induced negative signaling responsible for Androgenic Alopecia. Their research found that the drug demonstrated meaningful stimulation of the human hair cycle in pre-clinical trials, with AMP-506 and AMP-303 showing statistically different average responses compared to controls. Amplifica's AMP-303 drug is 1/2a ready, and the AMP-506 drug is in pre-clinical development, with clinical studies planned for early and late 2023. The early market research conducted by HairDAO on Amplifica provided valuable insights into the promising potential of the biologically-based topical drug for hair loss treatment.
